Although we had a three day weekend, Tuesday came with a pretty heavy dosage of learning. My brain. It's being attacked. (We actually just learned the word for attack! こわす。My brain is being kowasu-ed.
At least breakfast helps me out! My mom really pulled out all the stops this morning!
I think this breakfast and my Ryokan breakfast are a tie!
Grilled mackeral, homemade tamagoyaki, simmered krab and cucumber, miso soup, takuan, and rice!
School was fine. I actually can't remember what we learned because we go so fast.
Sometimes I think that the more I learn, the more I forget.
Gotta Ganbatte!!! Positive thinking! Gotta find my....
ZEN.
Perfect. Zazen is the activity for the day! Time to meditate.
The Daijouji Zen temple built in 1262. And I thought Princeton was old...scoff.
The meditation room was very cool looking, but I didn't think taking pictures was quite the aprops thing to do. There were a lot of rules about how to meditate. I think I did it all wrong. I couldn't understand the monk who was teaching us. Struggle.
Great experience though! I gotta work on my zazen.
Back to Rifare, back to work, back to the home.
Soon enough the day is almost over. Korean inspired din din!
Korean seafood pancake (that we wrap in seaweed and dip in a soy sauce mixture), bean sprouts, homemade tonjiru (miso soup with pork and various vegetables), and rice with takuan.
Smile. Good night.
