Monday. The start of a ROUGH week. But, let's just pretend that it was all sweet and good, like my french toast my mom cooked up with her homemade bread.
And I can't forget the yogurt! Yogurt is mah thang. Reminds me of my breakfasts at Princeton. Although, this yogurt is a bit different, and my mom layers it with cornflakes, bananas, blueberries, and a splash of milk! mmmmm....
My morning entertainment: Kaho and the Disappearing Ham!
She was tossing them slices back like they were candy! Even snatched mom's ham right off the plate! She is quite the ham herself.
Class happened. We've been reading about Instant Ramen. I now have a very strong dislike for Instant Ramen. That's the only update I'll give for school. I like to leave the bad memories behind.
So on to the gold! Gold leaf that is!
This was a PII activity, so a group of about 20 of us who signed up walked over to a gold leaf store near by to make some plates with bling bling!
We got to choose the shape of our plate, along with various stencils to cut up and layout on our plate. After applying a thin layer of glue on our stencils, we carefully peeled thin sheets of gold off the backing and placed them with tweezers over our stencils. A little dabbing here and there, reapplying gold leaf in the blank spots, peeling off the stickers, and cleaning up the edges...
My plate was complete! I kind of went to town on my plate. Like a gold forest exploded on it. And then a fairy came to clean up the mess, but instead just dropped some sparkly fairy dust to the party.
Restraint isn't my strongest point. But I am satisfied with my finished product!
Take a look at everyone's plates! I love them all.
Though I think Wilson-san loves her own the most. Couldn't even take her eyes off her plate, I guess. haha.
My plate. Up close and in your face.
But the fun is over. And the Tobira Textbook Monster takes over my life for the rest of the night.
Except for a dinner break, preceded by a lil photo shoot with these two munchkins!
Adorable. It's sometimes just too much to handle such cuteness. Just look at that sibling love. I definitely is not shown very often (especially when each of them are having their own tantrums and class the other one "Scary!" and "Bad!"), but I see it!
Tonight's dinner was great as always.
Spaghetti with a Japanese twist: tomato based sauce with octopus and Japanese mushrooms. Accompanied by miso soup and salad. Good stuff.
Time to revert back to the study cave. Night!
