Cycle 3 Reflection Post

It is amazing how fast the semester flew by! Even though it went by quickly, I feel that I have learned so much. It is really fun to be able to use my new Japanese skills in my everyday life, like when I listen to or speak with my grandma and mom, or even when I was in San Francisco Chinatown and could recognize many Kanji characters! I am very happy with my progress and all the work I put in to learn more Japanese. Over break, I got to see my grandma around four times, so I tried to practice with her as much as possible when we visited each other. Though it was difficult to have a complete conversation with her, I tried not to speak English too much when I was with her. It was actually really fun, and she was impressed! In regards to the shadowing, I have been watching and shadowing different short videos on youtube related to 日本語のぶんか。For example, I shadowed a Fashion Interview with two young women dressed in the wild はらじゅく style. It was fun to learn about the crazy fashion popular in Tokyo's youth culture! Anyways, I was able to accomplish my Cycle 3 Goals and had fun meeting them!

あけまして　おめでとう　ございます！　今日、おせちりょうり　を　かぞく　で　たべました。おせちりょうり　は　おしょうがつ　に　たべるりょうり　です。私の　おばあさん　が　おぞうに　や　ごもくずし　を　つくりました。私のすきな　もの　は　くろまめ　と　こんぶまき　です。とても　おいしい　です！
